About Me

I travelled solo a couple of years ago. Believe it or not, it’s a huge thing for a woman who hails from my hometown (Tamil Nadu, India). My first solo travel destination was Bali and that’s where it all started! In short, I blog to express my thoughts, ideas, experiences, and tips on solo travel for women.

I ain’t perfect or even claim to be one. I still have a lot of things to learn, and many fears to overcome.

A little Something about myself…

Some of you may know me as Swagachi, but my real name is Fazeela Begam Sirajudeen! I was born in the Southern state of India, Tamil Nadu. I have been an introvert all my life and had a flair for story writing since childhood. On a fun note, my creative brain gave me all kind of crazy dreams in my sleep, and I swear I could write an entire book on them!

What is Swagachi?

One day, I just randomly came up with this name Swagachi in my head. It is not a legit English word. But I call it as a fusion of English and my native language, Tamil! Swag means cool in urban dictionary and achi is the last 4 letters of “Thamizhachi” (a female inhabitant of Tamil Nadu aka a Tamil lady). Hence, Swagachi means a Tamil lady with swag.

My purpose…

Check out this space for amazing solo travel blogs for women around the world. And you know what, it’s never too late to start your journey yet.

On my first solo trip to Bali…

I’m easily inspired by people and their achievements. It need not necessarily be climbing the Mt. Everest or creating world records! It could also be little things like whistling with your fingers, and small acts of kindness like wishing a good day to people you see in the park.

I appreciate people who embrace their flaws, and love themselves a little more. At the end of the day, self love is what we strive for in day-to-day life. And that’s what I want to let people know through my blogs as well! So what are you waiting for? Pack your bags to explore the world, different cultures, delicious food, amazing people, and most importantly, YOURSELF!

Be who you are, not the world wants you to be…
