Mount Abu, a quintessential hill station in Rajasthan, exhibits pleasant weather throughout the year. If you want to explore the hill station in all its glory, the best time to visit Mount Abu is considered during winter, that is, November and March. The weather during these months is not so extreme and harsh, which allows for a comfortable and calming travel experience.

Peak Season

As mentioned, the peak tourist season in Mount Abu is considered to be between November and March. You will see several tourists flocking to the beautiful hill station to spend some time away from the hustle-bustle of the city. Also, during these months, Mount Abu celebrates a wide range of festivities that make it all the more stunning!

Shoulder Season

The shoulder season can be witnessed between March and June. While the beauty of the hill station remains unblemished, Mount Abu sees a drop in the number of tourists. If you are someone who would rather explore the hill station when it’s less crowded, then this might be the best time for you to plan your solo trip to Mount Abu. The best part about the shoulder season is that even though the temperature rises quite a bit, it does not get extremely hot and sunny.

Low Season

And lastly, the time between July and October constitutes the low season. During these months, Mount Abu witnesses heavy rainfalls, and some of the prominent tourist attractions, such as Nakki Lake, are closed to tourists. However, this season is another opportunity for you to explore the hill station that comes to life during the rains!

Best time to visit Mount Abu – Winter Season

On average, the temperature in Mount Abu during the winter months ranges from 16⁰C to 22⁰C. While the temperature may sometimes rise slightly more, it rarely exceeds 28⁰C. And on rare days, the temperature may go down to 10⁰C. However, this usually happens at night and is extremely rare too. This pleasant temperature range makes October to March the best time to visit Mount Abu!

Although it does not snow in Mount Abu, the hill station looks surreal during the winter months. It welcomes its visitors with open arms and bestows them the opportunity to have a relaxing vacation. The early mornings and evenings are quite pleasant, and the nights may get a little too chilly. Also, the afternoons may get a little warm, but nothing that stops you from having the perfect solo trip!

If you happen to visit Mount Abu in December, you can check out the Annual Winter Festival, which is hosted to celebrate the culture and hospitality of the hill station. Or, if you are someone who likes adventure sports, Mount Abu offers many of those too. You can try your hand at zip-lining, rock climbing, rappelling, and much more!

Best time to visit Mount Abu – Summer Season

Considering the location of Mount Abu, you may find it to be more on the warmer side than other hill stations in the country. The temperature between the summer months of March and June ranges from 31⁰C to 37⁰C. On certain days, the temperature may even rise to 40⁰C. However, at night, it is relatively more relaxed, and the temperature goes down to as low as 28⁰C. These extremely warm temperatures make summer months some of the least-visited by tourists.

On rare occasions, it may even rain during the summer months. However, it does very little to change the climate, and you may barely notice any temperature changes.

While the extremely warm temperatures may make you want to stay in your hotel room all day, the heat will not tamper with your plans. You will be able to step out of your room and have a fun day exploring the magic of Mount Abu! And on the brighter side, the tourist spots will be less crowded, making your day easier and fun!

You can visit the famous Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary and check out the exquisite flora and fauna. Or, you could spend a lazy afternoon exploring the Datda Sea World or The Government Museum.

Best time to visit Mount Abu – Monsoon Season

The monsoon season starts in July and lasts till October. The weather is partially pleasant and partially humid. With the temperature ranging from 28⁰C to 34⁰C, you can expect the weather to be slightly humid and chilly at night.

On a positive note, it does not rain torrentially in Mount Abu as it does in other hill stations. This will allow you to explore the hill station without worrying too much about the rain.

Compared to the winter months, you will see lesser tourists during the monsoon months. One of the reasons behind this is that the monsoon months constitute the low season. But don’t worry, you will get to explore the hill station at your leisure and enjoy the calmness and solace!

Here is a little tip that will save your day – even though it does not rain continuously in Mount Abu, untimely rain can ruin your plans. I would recommend that you factor this into your plans and carry your rain protective gear with you every time you step out of your hotel!
