The latest addition to the city of Udaipur is Pratap Gaurav Kendra. This new tourist spot has gained attention in recent years. The Pratap Gaurav Kendra is located on the Tiger Hill Manoharpura, in the Badgaon area, approximately 9 kilometres from Udaipur. The backstory of Pratap Gaurav Kendra

Backstories are always fascinating—it increases the traveller’s interest. So you might wonder about the backstory behind this place as well. It is believed Pratap Gaurav Kendra Tirth was built to complete the vision of Sri Sohan Singh Ji. He wanted to immortalise Maharana Pratap and dedicate a place to the King of Mewar. In 2002, Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap was formed to fulfil the mission.

Further, in 2007, a piece of 25 bigha land was purchased. The budget for this entire project was quoted to be Rs.100 cores. And finally, in 2016, the place was inaugurated by RSS Param Pujaniya Sarsanghchalak Mohan Rao Ji. 

The structure of Pratap Gaurav Kendra

The place is famous for the structure of Maharana Pratap’s statue sitting at the top of the hill. Be ready to be awestruck at the 57 feet tall statue. It is the tallest metal statue in the world! You will be surprised to comprehend that the statue weighs 40000 kilograms and is made of an alloy of eight metals.

There are also other statues of famous patronages like the statue of Swamibhakt Chetak and Meera Bai. You will come across several galleries while you explore the area of Pratap Gaurav Kendra.

The prime attraction of the place is, without a doubt, the statues. As soon as you enter the place, that’s the first thing your eyes will meet!

The major attraction and main highlight of Pratap Gaurav Kendra is the live robotic show. You have to walk a lot to reach the theatre, just giving your heads-up. The history is beautifully presented through the moving figures. It creates an everlasting impact on the tourists!

Light and sound show at Bharat Dirgha

Another attraction at Pratap Gaurav Kendra is the Bharat Dirgha. If you want to witness the entire India in one glimpse, then this is the place. The entire map of India is engraved. You can see the rivers and oceans and temples right in front of you! All these coordinated with light and sound makes it an epic show!

Visit the Bharat Mata Mandir

It is the highest point in the area. You will have a stunning view of the entire city, and the mountains add to the beauty of the place! Even the great statue of Maharana Pratap is prominently visible from here.

How to reach Pratap Gaurav Kendra

Reaching the place is not much of a hassle. You can access the place by road. Pratap Gaurav Kendra is at a distance of about 25 kilometres from the Maharana Pratap Airport of Udaipur. The railway station and the bus stand are 9.3 kilometres and 8.3 kilometers, respectively.

You can take either a cab or a bus to reach the place. But if you are on a road trip, you can drive yourself to the place. If not, you can rent yourself a bike. But keep in mind that you will require an entire day to explore the place fully.

Timings and entry fee of the Pratap Gaurav Kendra

Pratap Gaurav Kendra remains open throughout the week for visitors. The place opens at 9:30 AM and closes at 6:30 PM. 

The entry fee for the entry into the place and the shows are as follows: 

• Indian adult: Rs.100
• Indian Children: Rs.50
• Foreigner adult: Rs.1500
• Foreigner child: Rs.750
• Live Show: Rs.100

Why should you visit the place?

Whether you are Indian or a foreigner, if you want to know about the history of the Mewar Kingdom and India, you must visit this place in Udaipur. It is, to date, the best site where Indian history is compiled in the best way possible. Although the shows are in Hindi, there are translation devices available. So, ladies, there is absolutely no reason for you not to visit the place.
