Founded in 1559 by Maharana Udai Singh II, Udaipur is one of the most majestic tourist destinations in India. Also known as the ‘City of Lakes, Udaipur is famous for its serene lakes, magnificent architectural marvels, regal palaces, and lip-smacking Rajasthani cuisine, among other things. 

If you are planning a solo trip to Udaipur, you are in for a treat. The city has so much to offer that when the time comes to bid goodbye, you will want to stay back for a couple more days!

On a broader note, the walls of these palaces and forts echo the history of the battles fought here, making them excellent tourist spots for history enthusiasts.

The cuisine comprises a wide variety of lip-smacking dishes, ranging from spicy starters, hot, crunchy breads, delightful curries, and pickles to chilled, tangy drinks and sweet savouries that will melt in your mouth.

The history of this particular cuisine goes back to the city’s culture. Also, most of the dishes you will find in the cuisine are made of ingredients depending on their availability, for example, certain seasonal fruits and vegetables.
