Udaipur presents the perfect amalgamation of beauty and stunning architecture. While the ideal time to visit Udaipur is between the months of September and March, people tend to miss out on things the city has to offer in the summer months, like July. There are a whole lot of things that you can do and explore during July in Udaipur.
What are the places to visit in Udaipur during July?
This beautiful city has a lot to offer its visitors, regardless of when you visit. The architectural marvels, lip-smacking cuisine, and breathtakingly stunning lakes, along with the humble locals, make Udaipur worth a visit even in July.
Here are my top recommendations that you can explore when you visit Udaipur on your next solo trip in July:
Lake Pichola
You might have heard that Udaipur is famously known as the “City of Lakes.” Well, a major reason behind this is the alluring Lake Pichola! It is one of the best tourist spots in Udaipur and holds a lot of importance for the city. It was constructed back in 1362 and is 2 miles wide, 3 miles long.
You can visit the lake both during the day and at night. However, to witness the beauty of Lake Pichola in all its glory, I would recommend nighttime. When the sun goes down, the moon shows up, and the surrounding street lights light up, Lake Pichola looks ethereal!

Fateh Sagar Lake
Fateh Sagar Lake is the second-largest lake in Udaipur and is situated in front of the famous Moto Magri Mahal. The lake is an artificial one and was constructed by Maharana Jai Singh in 1678, but looks nothing short of magical. It has three tiny islands which you can easily reach via a boat.
The first island houses a stunning boat-like restaurant and a garden, perfect for taking a stroll in after a hearty meal. Additionally, this island also has a small zoo where visitors can spend a lazy afternoon! The second island has a beautiful garden with fountains. And the third garden has the famous Udaipur Solar Observatory, where you can check out the twinkling stars at night for a unique experience!

The Lake Palace
The Lake Palace is among the most popular tourist attractions in Udaipur and makes for the perfect option to check out in July. It is constructed on 1.5 hectares of land and is situated on an island known as Jag Niwas. Against the backdrop of the serene blue water, this white marble palace looks heavenly!
As of now, the palace has become a heritage hotel, but back in the day, it used to serve as the summer respite for the royals of Udaipur. Even as a heritage hotel, The Lake Palace has not lost its charm. The intricately designed embellishments and aesthetics make the palace a delight to the eyes!
Timings: Round the clock
Entry fee: INR 500
City Palace
This beautiful palace offers its visitors a glimpse into the luxurious lives of the kings and queens who ruled the city a long time ago. City Palace is the biggest architectural monument in Udaipur. It took the builders and workers around three centuries to complete the construction of this marvellous beauty!
The City Palace has been elegantly designed with a combination of Mughal and Rajasthani architectural styles. If you are a history enthusiast, then this palace is the ideal place for you. There is so much history to this palace, and I would suggest that you ask your tour guide as much as you can.
Apart from the beautiful pillars and structures, there is more to do at the City Palace. You can enjoy the stunning, panoramic views of Lake Pichola from the rooftop that will leave you awe-struck!
Timings: 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM
Entry fee: INR 30
Vintage Car Museum
If you want a glimpse into the lives of the Mewar Kings of Udaipur, then do not forget to check out the Vintage Car Museum. It opened its doors for visitors in 2000 and houses cars that are over 70 years old!
If you hire a tour guide (and I suggest you do), they can tell you all about the cars and how these ended up in the museum. Inside the museum, there is a vintage shell petrol pump as well, which still functions!
The premise of the Vintage Car Museum also houses a beautiful garden restaurant where you can munch on some Rajasthani cuisine and snacks after exploration.
Timings: 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM
Entry fee: INR 250
Jagdish Temple
The last tourist spot on the list is the famous Jagdish Temple, which consists of about 50 aesthetically designed pillars and ceilings. The temple was built in accordance with “Vastushastra,” which depicts the way kings and queens lived their lives back then. The spacious halls and beautiful wall carvings make Jagdish Temple one of the unique tourist places in Udaipur.
The best part about visiting the temple in July is that it hosts a wide variety of rituals and ceremonies. You can check out these ceremonies if you have a keen interest in learning more about the Rajasthani culture!

Udaipur in July for a solo trip
These are some of the must-visit places in Udaipur for a solo trip that you cannot miss out on. The ‘City of Lakes’ depicts the royal lifestyle of the kings and queens, and you can witness this in its monuments and palaces!
As a tourist destination for solo female travellers, Udaipur is a safe and fun option. You will surely have a lovely time here and take home a bucket full of memories!
