On my visit to Udaipur, what captivated me the most was the art and culture of the city. The grandeur of the architectural palaces is nothing less than the architectural gems of Venice. You will be swept off your feet looking at the intricate work of art of white marbles on the palaces. Udaipur is also referred to as the White City because of this reason. The culture of Udaipur remains an important aspect to the people of the city. Once you involve yourself with their way of living, you will only fall in love with the city. 

The cultural folk songs and dances narrate stories and folklores from ancient times. An evening can be easily spent as you sway with the music. I always say, “To know a place, you need to understand its culture.” Udaipur is one such city with immense cultural importance. 

The romantic city 

Romance is in the air of both these cities. Venice is known as one of the most romantic cities in Europe, whereas Udaipur is referred to as one of the most romantic spots in India. It is a popular destination for couples, especially for honeymooners. The ambience of the city makes it a perfect romantic gateway.

Udaipur is encompassed by the Aravalli ranges and connected by many lakes throughout the city. This combination of nature makes the city breathtakingly beautiful! You can even enjoy the beauty all by yourself and in your own company. Away from the hustle-bustle of the metro cities, spend some time in solitude amidst nature. In my opinion, this is the best way to rewind yourself. You can also go for rooftop dining overlooking the entire Udaipur city. Or simply sit back and enjoy the magic of the sunset. 

Be it monsoon or winter, Udaipur is pleasant in both seasons. However, the monsoon adds a little oomph of extra romance to the city.
