You can either self-drive your car or book a cab to reach Udaipur. You can also rent a one-way car online through websites/apps like Gozocabs, Savaari, etc. The taxi service between these two cities is fluent as well. No matter what you choose, discuss the rates beforehand to avoid fraudulence. The superb connectivity by road makes it a convenient way to reach Udaipur.

This is my favourite way to travel from Jodhpur to Udaipur and for several tourists. And there are reasons behind it. It is comfortable and time-saving, and you have the freedom to do whatever you want. Especially the road from Jodhpur to Udaipur consists of sightseeing locations. So if you opt for a car, you will not miss any of it!

The route to Udaipur from Jodhpur

The most followed route by tourists from Jodhpur to Udaipur is driving via Pali, Ranakpur, and Kumbhalgarh Udaipur.

The road conditions are excellent! I bet this will be an easy drive. You can relax and enjoy your road trip in peace.

How to reach Udaipur from Jodhpur by bus

Undoubtedly another way to travel to Udaipur is by boarding a bus. This public transport is handy for many travellers who do not want to take the pain of finding a reliable taxi or driving a car. It is also the cheapest way to travel from one city to another.

There are many state buses along with private buses. These bus operators provide facilities like AC, Non AC, seater, sleeper, etc. Hence, check out all the options before buying a ticket.

Is there any way to reach Udaipur from Jodhpur by air?

Yes, there is a way to reach Udaipur by flight from Jodhpur. Both the cities have their airports. However, the lack of no direct flights between the cities complicates the procedure for travellers.

You have to board the connecting flights from Jodhpur to reach Udaipur. In this case, flights are time-consuming as well as costly. Ladies, I do not recommend you to travel by air! 

How to reach Udaipur from Jodhpur by train

Some trains connect Udaipur and Jodhpur via Ajmer. Hence, it takes around 11 hours to reach Udaipur. If you love train journeys and are willing to spend so much time, then you can go for this option. There are trains available daily. It is your choice to book one at your convenience.

How long does it take to reach Udaipur from Jodhpur?

This depends on which route and mode of transport you take to reach the city of lakes, Udaipur. Usually, it will take around 4 to 5 hours to reach the destination. Now, if you’re travelling via air or railways, the time will vary. 

The fastest way to reach Udaipur is by car or cab. Then the next best option you can avail yourself of is a bus. But I feel if you are from a foreign land, public transport may not be suitable for you. However, if you have a local travel buddy, you can choose this option. 

What is the distance between Udaipur and Jodhpur?

To be precise, the distance between these two cities is 250 kilometres. The short distance between Udaipur and Jodhpur is one of the many reasons people plan to cover these two cities in one go. Cost is one of the key factors which we have to consider beforehand for a trip. The bus ticket fare starts around Rs. 350 and can go as high as Rs. 600. This depends upon the type of bus you book your tickets in.

If you are travelling by car, then the cost of petrol is what you have to bare. However, in the case of taxis or shared jeeps, they chuarge based on kilometres. This starts at Rs. 9/ kilometre and changes with different types of cars.
