From partaking in thrilling sports, living the shack life, shopping at the popular flea market, grooving in an enticing nightlife, relishing delectable dishes, to hiking the Anjuna cliff, there is something for everyone! For these reasons, Anjuna Beach remains one of the busiest beaches in Goa.
The hippie and free-spirited lifestyle, along with an abundance of activities, draws visitors, particularly foreigners, to the beach daily. As a result, you will meet people from all over the world.
So brace yourself to explore the world of things at Anjuna Beach on your next solo trip to Goa.
1. Parasailing
One of the most fun and adventure-filled things to do in Anjuna Beach is parasailing. Imagine flying like a bird over the turquoise blue Arabian Sea and seeing the world from above. Thrilling, isn’t it? By far, it is one of my favourite water sports to do after Kayaking in Goa.
Many businesses offer this activity to visitors. However, it is always better to weigh your options first. Ask for all the details and communicate clearly with them for a satisfactory experience. Ideally, one parasailing session would cost around Rs.800 and last 10 minutes. All your safety equipment like a helmet and life jacket are included in this price. So, do not pay extra bucks for it!
2. Banana Boat Ride
If you like roller-coaster rides, you’re surely going to enjoy this ride. All you’ve to do is sit on a banana-shaped boat and balance yourself as the speed boat pulls you through the waves for 2 kilometres. This activity will be apt for you if you want a moderate-level adventure.
But the only setback is this sport can only be done in a group of 5-7 people. So, talk with other solo travellers on the Anjuna Beach or form a group of your own to experience this ride. This is a 10-minute activity, including the briefing time by the instructor.
3. ATV Ride
Hold your breath because this is one of the most daring and off-beat activities available in Anjuna Beach. If you want to feel the adrenaline rush, this monster ride is for you. Depending on your preference, you can choose to ride the ATV either on the hilly track leading up to the viewpoint on the cliff or on Anjuna Beach. You will have to pay around Rs.500 to ride this powerful beast!
4. Paintball
This game at Anjuna Beach lives up to the word “fun.” It is the most recent addition to the list. I had a blast playing this game with my solo buddies on my recent trip to Goa.
5. Hike the Anjuna cliff
This is probably my favorite of all the things to do in Anjuna Beach. Hiking has always been something I’ve wanted to do, and being able to do it in North Goa, specifically near Anjuna Beach, is nothing short of a miracle. You can catch one of the stunning sunsets in Goa from here. The best part is you don’t have to pay a penny to do this!
6. Visit Curlies
When visiting Anjuna Beach, make it a point to experience the Goan shack life at Curlies. You can unwind during the day, sipping your favourite drink, eating a delicious Goan lunch, and watching the sunset. You can also party until the wee hours at the soundproof nightclub.
The shack remains open from 8 am to 3 am throughout the week. A meal at Curlies will cost you Rs.750, excluding the booze.
7. Shop till you drop at Anjuna Flea Market
Whether you’re travelling solo or not, shopping sits with pride on every traveller’s list. Am I right, or am I right? Anjuna Beach provides you with one of the best flea markets in Goa. You’ll find all kinds of souvenirs here. And if you’re planning on collecting authentic Nepali and Tibetan items at a much lower rate, this place is your dream destination!
This market remains closed during the off-season. So make sure to read my blog post on what you should know before visiting the famous Anjuna Flea Market in Goa. It is a little on the expensive side when compared to the other local markets in Goa, but you can get a good deal with even better bargaining skills!
8. Dance your night away at UV Bar
If you’re a night owl looking for things to do in Anjuna Beach at night, check out UV Bar. The bar’s UV artworks can easily transport you to a psychedelic trance. Furthermore, they provide the best amenities to their visitors.
9. Hog onto some delicious food at the cafes/restaurants
I cannot emphasise enough how Anjuna Beach has some of the best restaurants and cafés in North Goa. Your day trip to Anjuna Beach would be incomplete without sampling the delectable dishes. From Purple Martini to Artjuna, you’ll be spoilt with choices. Take a look at some of the top-notch places to eat at Anjuna Beach.
