What to Wear in Goa | Solo Female Travel

Floral dresses, jean shorts, cotton tops, flip flops, and lots and lots of junk jewellery are some things you must carry on your solo trip to Goa. Renowned as one of the best party destinations in the country, thousands of visitors and tourists visit Goa every year. The serene beaches, vibrant nightlife, and lip-smacking cuisine are famous in Goa.

Are you planning a trip to Goa but thinking about what to wear? Well, I have curated a list of items that will make your task of packing easier!

What to wear in Goa

Since Goa is mostly known for its beaches and nightlife, you can expect the fashion style to be a little easy-going. You will find most people, both locals, and tourists, in comfortable clothes and footwear.

My suggestion to you would be to pack as many light clothes as possible. Also, do not pack clothes that you may not be able to wear over there. This will only add a load to your luggage!

Clothes

When it comes to outfits, I would say less is more. The more comfortable you are, the better it will be for you to explore the destination. Since it is mostly sunny in Goa, light-coloured or pastel colours would be great. You can pack all your off-shoulder tops, camisole tops, tank tops, light t-shirts, and bralettes! To ensure that you have a variety of different colours, pack as many coloured clothes as you can. Then, you can easily pair these up with solid coloured bottom wear and experiment with different looks.

For bottoms, you can pack jean shorts, long floral skirts, miniskirts, baggy jeans, and loose pants. These are easy to wear, and if you pack enough solid colours, you can easily match these with your tops for some outfit experiments!

Additionally, a couple of maxi dresses would also be great. If you are hitting the beach, these dresses will ensure that you are comfortable while enjoying your time on the beaches. Some floral dresses along with a few pieces of solid-coloured dresses would be perfect.

Jewellery

If you love jewellery, pack a few pieces that will go with most of your outfits. Some of my suggestions include bangles, long chain necklaces, boho earrings, nose pins, and hair accessories. Junk jewellery pieces go with most outfits.

Footwear

Again, with footwear, less is more. The key is to pack footwear you are sure about actually wearing on your solo trip. I suggest you avoid carrying all of your favourite footwear. It will only take up unnecessary space in your bags. A good pair of sneakers that will go well with dresses and jeans, a pair of flip-flops for the beaches, and one or two cute little pairs of sandals for everyday use, and you will be all set for your solo trip!

Skincare & Makeup

You know they say that makeup is a girl’s best friend, right? When it comes to a beachy destination like Goa, even skincare and sun protection become a girl’s best friend. Don’t forget to pack all your makeup essentials so that you look your best every day. And a few skincare essentials like your moisturiser, lip balm, serums, and other things are also important.

Sunscreen

And the most important item that is a must-have on your solo trip is sunscreen. Quite obviously, you will be spending most of your time outdoors. On most days, the sun will be out, and the last thing you want is to get tanned. Not only that, the harmful sun rays are known to cause a wide range of skin infections. So, don’t forget to keep enough sunscreens with you. I recommend carrying a separate one for both your face and body.

Swimwear

Goa will offer you a bunch of stunning beaches to explore. If you are a beach bum like me, you will have a blast spending time on these beautiful beaches. And while you are at it, your swimwear will enhance your overall chilling experience at the beach. A two-piece bikini or a swimwear trunk, anything you are comfortable in, will be great.

Sunglasses & hats

Although not extremely important, carrying sunglasses and cute hats can add that extra layer of protection. You might have read about how sun rays can also damage your hair. This is why it is important to cover your hair if you are going to be under the sun for an extended period. On the other hand, sunglasses protect your eyes from harmful sun rays and look super cool. It’s a win-win, right?

Are you all set for your solo trip to Goa?

what to wear in goa

This brings us to the end of the blog. The clothing items and other packing essentials I have mentioned are my suggestions. Feel free to add or remove things from the list. The idea is to carry fewer clothes and pair them up differently so that it looks stylish. If you are still confused, then just go with the classic colour black and white. You can never go wrong with these colours, which will also make a statement style!
