Other places to park in the city include the City Palace complex, public parking area, Fateh Sagar parking zone, etc. You can also park in marketplaces and commercial areas, but at your own risk! The street remains commonplace for parking in Udaipur.

Parking becomes a crucial factor when exploring the Venice of the East on your rented bike/car. The rented vehicle becomes your responsibility. This also means an added cost to your budget. At the same time, you have to abide by the parking rules of Udaipur. Or else you will be fined for parking in the non-parking zones. 

So to keep your worries at bay, I have gathered information on my solo trip to Udaipur about the different parking places in Udaipur.

1. City Palace car parking

City Palace is one of the most popular tourist spots in Udaipur. Everyone travelling to the city makes sure to visit the palace at least once. So if you are driving yourself to the City Palace, park your vehicle in the complex.

Although the parking tickets at City Palace Complex are high, it is one of the nearest places where you can park your rented cars in Udaipur. You will be charged around Rs.350 for an hour or two. Also, they do not take any liability for your vehicle.

2. Karni Mata parking

Karni Mata temple is considered one of the best places to have the best views of the entire Udaipur city! The temple is near Doodh Talai Lake in the Machla Magra Hills. You do not have to worry about your parking on your drive to the lake. There is spacious parking available.

You can park anytime between 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM throughout the week. The best part about it is that the parking tickets are extremely cheap! You have to pay Rs.10 to park your rented car or bike. 

3. Fateh Sagar public parking

Fateh Sagar Lake is the manmade masterpiece of Udaipur. This artificial lake witnesses tourists all the time. It is one of the prime locations in Udaipur. If you want to indulge in all the activities at Fateh Sagar Lake, you will have to park your car. The Fateh Sagar public parking comes to your rescue. You can park at this place without any hassle. The parking zone remains open from 6:30 in the morning till 11:30 at night throughout the week. Moreover, it is absolutely free of cost! 

There are also many interesting places near Fateh Sagar Lake that you can check. 

4. Municipality parking near Jagdish Temple area

The municipality of Udaipur provides parking facilities for travellers. Whether it is your car or rented car/bike, parking is essential. You can park at this place at a mere charge of Rs.20. You do not have to worry about the safety of your car or bike as it is a government facility. They are liable to you in case of any mishap. Located at a one-minute walking distance from Jagdish Temple, this parking area lies between the Jagdish temple and City Palace. 

5. Smart parking at Bapu Bazar

Shopping and parking your vehicle go hand in hand. Safely parking your car/bike gives you a sense of relief. Further, this lets you shop freely for as long as you want. Bapu Bazar is one of the popular markets for shopping in Udaipur. The bazar is famous for its Rajasthani souvenirs and intricate handicraft works. The smart parking here is a public parking space. You have access to the parking zone within walking distance of the market.

6. Hostels and hotels with parking space

There are several hostels and hotels available in Udaipur with parking spaces. If you have decided to travel and explore Udaipur on a rented car/bike, it is important to book accommodation that provides such facilities. Keep an eye open for hotels that provide free parking space. This way, you won’t cross your budget for the vacation. Parking rules that you must follow

You must follow the parking rules of Udaipur, especially if you are a tourist. Getting into trouble is probably the last thing you want on your solo trip.

• Do not park in a no-parking zone.
• You can only drive when you have a driving license. 
• Do not park on the private properties.
• You should avoid parking in the commercial areas, footpaths, or on the wrong side of the road.
• Do not leave your car unattended for a longer period to avoid getting fined by the traffic police department.
